Vendetta 2008
POW Vendetta was live from the Brixham Community College Sports Centre and after coming fresh off The Brixham Hap'nin show, there were many scores to settle which would also see two special matches such as a TLC Match & A Last Man Standing match.
Matches:
Los Mexicana VS Ultimo Scorpio VS Darren Saviour
There were many near falls in the match and it was literally anyone's to win. Towards the end of the match it seemed that los Mexicana was going to pick up a huge victory when he hit his finisher on both wrestlers but was unable to get the three. He even then hit an STO on Darren Saviour and the fans thought that was the final blow, however it was not enough. Ultimo Scorpio was able to hit the Cancoon on Mexicana and then turned around to Saviour receiving a Downward Spiral following by his flying Forearm securing the three count and winning the match. Winner: Darren Saviour
Cybernet Championship GazzNorks w/ Becky Summers VS David Fury (C)
GazzNorks held a long period where he was in control and even when Fury
started to build momentum, GazzNorks plan started to work as Fury seemed to be
slower than usual allowing GazzNorks to dish out several powerful moves such as
the Tilt To Whirl Powerslam. David Fury kept to his game and continued to stalk
Becky Summers which would distract GazzNorks on more than one occasion. Unable
to keep focus David Fury knew that using Becky would allow him to work on
GazzNorks. Working on his leg that he injured on the previous Cybernet episode,
Fury attacked both legs smashing them against the metal post. David Fury snapped
with rage and grabbed the Cybernet title and repeatedly smashed it to GazzNorks
legs.
Referee Lloyd Parker had no choice but to disqualify David Fury and was then brutally attacked by the psychotic wrestler. GazzNorks would win the match but because the decision was a DQ, the Cybernet Championship would not change hands leaving David Fury still Cybernet Champion. Winner: GazzNorks
Prime Minister Of POW On The Line Dexstar (Prime Minister) VS VV Reyes w/ Sir Charles Watkins
The crowd were red hot for Dexstar who had his name chanted in
the building, Dexstar would chase Watkins around the ring trying to seek a
little vengeance, however Reyes was there to stop and decimate him. Dexstar
would get the holy hell beaten out of him and unable to fight back or gain any
momentum in the match, it just looked one sided. With Sir Charles Watkins there
cheating at every chance, Dexstar had no hope of winning the match. VV Reyes seemed to know what Dexstar was capable of and looked as if he had revised his opponent very well. He would not be able to stop Dexstar's cat and mouse technique at the end of the match when he dodged a charging VV Reyes who hit the turnbuckle. Dexstar shot his body across Reyes several times using himself as a human missile. Dexstar would climb the turnbuckle to many times and got caught in the V-Locity that ended the match and won Watkins the right as Prime Minister. Watkins would then later deport Dexstar to New Zealand. Winner: VV Reyes
Tag Team Championships TLC Match OOB VS Chris Marvel & Lee O' Brian (C)
Winners: Lee O' Brian & Chris Marvel
POW Championship Last Man Standing Match King Walshington I VS Robbie Devonshire (C)
The King would later mock Robbie Devonshire's Cybernet Elbow Drop but would miss and then receive the real version of it. The King connected the KOR at the end of the match but Robbie was able to get up on the count of nine. Both men's fatigue had defiantly settled in and the two hit a double clothesline knocking each other to the floor. The King called over the referee stating that he had an injury to the eye, Robbie slowly got to his feet only to fall once more when VV Reyes ran in a connected a neckbreaker on Robbie. The referee did not see this and continued the count allowing King Walshington to win the match and become the new POW Champion once more.

Normally
the Mexicans would happily team up and challenge the POW tag teams on offer,
however they were put to the test in the opening match when the squared off
against each other along with returning Darren Saviour in a triple threat match.
With fast paced athletic luchador moves, the match was spectacular showing fans
what POW entertainment was all about. The Mexicanas teamed up at the start of
the match however the friendship would eventually have a twist when Mexicana
looked for glory and attacked Scorpio.
Adamant
that he deserved a second chance for the Cybernet title and wanting revenge on
David Fury for his recent weird and strange behaviour on Becky Summers along
with the anger that GazzNorks was taken hostage by Fury and then tortured made
him want to destroy Fury in half. The bell went off and GazzNorks went straight
for wrestling holds grounding Fury and working on his arm. GazzNorks made it
clear that he wanted to break Fury's arm which would not enable him to hit or
connect any powerful moves.
The
Prime Minster of POW election was held on the previous Cybernet episode and
whoever would win the election would gain official power and control over POW.
In a final vote Dexstar would become victorious however would suffer a beating
from the jealous loser Sir Charles Watkins who ordered Dexstar to put his name
on the line. Watkins would then back out of the match sending the Dark Knight VV
Reyes as his replacement.
With
all that both teams have gone through in the last month and the rivalry at
boiling point, a tables ladders and chairs match just seemed right. The past few
weeks OOB have not been able to win the tag team championships back and have
even been defeated in a tables match followed by a ladder match and although
both teams still bruised and battered, two days later would fight in this
barbaric match.
The
tag team titles were held high connected to some strong rope across the ceiling
on the venue, using the props given, both teams needed to get the belts in there
hands to win the match. Out On Bail were not ready for the high flying tactics
from Marvel & O' Brian. Early into the match Scott Johns decided to show the
crowd what they would be using after blasting a vial chair shot to the skull of
Lee O' Brian. Later O' Brian & Marvel would taste the steel on there backs when
they were both slammed on ladders shocking the crowd in horror.
The
match would see many fans question if what these people were doing was right and
if this match should have been banned, but both teams would not quit knowing
that the tag titles were on the line and how much it meant to them. Scott Johns
would then set a table on the outside and take Lee O' Brian with him onto the
outside of the apron. What we were about to witness was one of the most shocking
things so far when Scott Johns Powerbombed Lee O' Brian through the table off
the apron leaving his body motionless. Sicko would then connect several moves
landing Chris Marvel on the ladder and with the tides turned, Out On Bail looked
to win the titles back.
Marvel
in pain would not let his team down and continued to fight back. After planting
several chair shots to both members of OOB Marvel set a table on the outside and
laid Johnny Sicko on it. Marvel would then deify the laws of gravity and connect
a Senton Bomb from the top turnbuckle to the outside sacrificing himself and
landing on Sicko while going through the table. Lee O' Brian knew it was just
him and Scott Johns left and when Scott looked close to grabbing the titles, Lee
used the chair and cracked him in the skull. Scott Johns fell off the ladder and
through a table stacked in the corner knocking him out and lying completely
unconscious. Lee O' Brian climbed the ladder and retrieved the belts to remain
tag team champions.
The
main event for Vendetta was set to see who would be the last man standing. A
match where the opponent must be on the floor for ten seconds. It is hard enough
to score a three count fall so what would both do to win a match that could make
or break a career. The King & Devonshire have both been POW Champions so knowing
what that feels like saw both men drive to anything they could do to ensure that
they would win the match.
The
match didn't start off like every normal match, both tested each other and then
out of no where exploded into a fist fight. The King would gain an early
advantage using his rough tactics by beating down Robbie would elbows and
forearms. The King would constantly parade around the ring stating that it was
only a matter of time before he won the match and would score the first chance
of seeing what damage had been done to Robbie when the referee started the
count. On the count of six Robbie got up and that was dangerous for Robbie with
only three minutes into the match. 
The
King almost smiled when he saw how long it took the Brixham hero to get up he
would continue the onslaught. The King was way to cocky and when he got kicked
in the face from Robbie, he would experience a huge adrenaline rush from
Devonshire who nearly obliterated the King in under a minute. The King who had
no taken any punishment was down for a considerable amount of time and had he
not rolled out of the ring and landed on his feet, that match may have been
over. Both men brawled on the outside and in front of the crowd before Robbie
would continue dishing out a few moves and getting a few close calls.
No
thanks to VV Reyes who once again screwed Robbie just like No Turning Back
allowed the King to be the main man once more.
